Why do people hate yamcha

Another beef with her is I don't think she really loved Goku. She was in love with the idea of love. Think about it, all of her ideas about relationships were something she read or was told about.

She constantly said, "that's what couples do," or something akin to that. No one twisted her arm to marry Goku. She knew who he was, and yet she looks down on him for being a fighter. As for Yamcha, he's a punching bag, but I find that endearing. The biggest truths aren't original. The truth is ketchup. It's Jim Belushi. Its job isn't to blow our minds. It's to be within reach. Just a great series all-around. I've seen fans point out Goku's flaws, and he's not treated like a saint. It's Bulma and Vegeta who fans whitewash. I wish that Chichi was the one we saw at the beginning of Z. Jokes aside, I think she was a very romantic kid but she obviously had a big crush on Goku and in my opinion, there is more evidence in favor of her loving him than not, even considering that post-Vegeta incident, and if she didn't love him she could've left him anyway, I mean, it's not like he was the breadwinner in their house or whatever, she stayed and waited for him always because she obviously loved him a lot imo.

Post by garnetjester » Sat Feb 22, pm Chichi changes a lot by the Majin Buu arc, probably because of Goku's death. I meant in their relationship. I always see people bitching about how Chichi was horrible because she wasn't in love with Goku and forced him to marry her, but I've never read anyone pointing out that Goku was not exactly great husband material anyway.

Post by Vice » Sat Feb 22, pm Yamcha - treated like a weak joke even in canon. Chi-Chi - shrill of a woman who's portrayed as nag personified. Not hard to see why these two aren't popular with the fandom. Last edited by Vice on Sat Feb 22, pm, edited 1 time in total.

When Yamcha's voice actor asked Toriyama why the character was getting such shitty treatment, Toriyama said "come on, Yamcha's a cheater! Herms wrote: The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker.

Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu because Log In Sign Up. Keep me logged in on this device Forgot your username or password? User Info: Amesang. I still need to finish my Yamcha baseball card. Just too lazy… "Help! They've destroyed my cousin's brain!! Oh, my god! They've already milked you, haven't they?!! User Info: DoctorPiranha3. No one hates Yamcha, he just always gets his ass kicked because of his terrible luck. Sure he's strong, but he's kind of the butt monkey of the series. User Info: Liquid Spider. Yamcha is a cool character and everything, but people make fun of him because the narrative doesn't really treat him nicely.

In case you need a refresher, here's a look at him saga by saga: -Beginning of DB: Goku's first major rival, and he's already outclassed by a well fed Goku. Has a weird fear of girls that is seemingly unmacho which is the joke, for such a suave looking character. For the most part, Yamcha was at his best in this arc, pretty clever and resourceful, and did end up with Bulma who despite being such a brat, is quite the catch st tournament: Defeated by Jackie Chun, in his first match.

He's also outclassed by Krillin at this point, and Krillin even becomes a more important character. Defeated by the Mummy man nd tournament: Leg broken by Tenshinhan. At this point, its crystal clear that he's just a tagalong character, because other characters are debuted that are much stronger, and Yamcha is just further outclassed without being really relevant to the story.

Toriyama keeps him around because he's just part of the Dragonball family, and it wouldn't be the same without him. His death is used to heighten the stakes of the battle, and he's eventually joined by Tenshinhan, Chaozu and even Piccolo of all people.

Uhh not on here but ever watch TFS faq special 2? In the original Dragonball, he was badass and was one of the strongest characters in the series, but in DBZ he was made into a minor character who was extremely weak and who's only real purpose was to provide filler moments and occasional comic relief. Btw Yamchas also one of my favori characters aswell.

CakeBoxSisters said: He was awesome in DB, but as the series progressed, Toriyama had a lot of characters he had trouble including in the plot, therefore Yamcha and several others just sort of faded. This somehow also makes him easier to make fun of. Satan, but no one character seems to get as much hate as Yamcha. Seriously, think about. You don't see memes about Goku getting shot down by a Pea shooter in resurrection F or Gohan's pathetic performance in You might see one or two, but look up Yamcha memes and nine out of ten times they'll be about how weak he is.

So let's debunk some of these myths. He's also the third strongest earthling, which could be implying that both Krillin and Tien are stronger but my head canon says Android 17 and 18 are still earthlings, so he's stronger than Chiaotzu, Roshi, Krillin, and even Tien Shinhan.

In fact, Yamcha he's a fear of women that he never really got over according to Akira Toriyama, so why on earth would he do that? Yes, Trunks says that Bulma and Yamcha broke up because Yamcha was, "Playing the field", but Bulma does the exact same thing in both original Dragon Ball and Z by marrying the person who tried to blow up the planet. Yet no Bulma hate has been detected. In fact, in the Tree of Might movie Yamcha dropped a bunch of money so he could get a new car and impress Bulma, who then falsely accuses him of trying to pick up other women.
